Pastoral Leadership Team –
Vern serves as the lead pastor at LVC. He graduated from Calvin Theological Seminary in May of 1982 and was then ordained in the Christian Reformed Church and served 8 years Pastoring churches in Iowa and Colorado. In 1998 he was invited to become a Pastor in the Loveland Vineyard and since has been a Pastor in the Loveland or Fort Collins Vineyard. “I thank God for the Vineyard. I found the Vineyard in Fort Collins in 1991. The first time I walked in, I knew that the presence of God was there and this was the way I had always dreamed of “doing church”. I love the honesty, the freedom, the “realness” of the Vineyard family. The Vineyard is where I had my emotional and spiritual life restored by participating deeply in a small group.”
I was born and raised in rural southern Minnesota. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and have worked in the field of medical Social Work for 20 years. I am married and have three children, two of which are married. I love spending time with my family, which includes two grandsons who bring tremendous amount of joy and happiness into my life.
I have known Jesus since a young girl and found the Vineyard in 1991. I have been actively involved in the Loveland Vineyard for the past 17 years. The Vineyard has been a place of healing, restoration and positive change for me. Currently I am Pastor of Community which includes Outreach, Pastoral Care and Compassion ministries both within our church and in our community. I have a desire to see the Kingdom of God move in my personal life and in the lives of all the people that we have contact. As I have learned to step out in faith and trust God, I am continually challenged to live that out day by day.
I enjoy biking, gardening, traveling, music, and enjoying life in the outdoors of Colorado!
Associate Pastors –
Matt Worley serves as the pastor over everything 40 and under, or as he likes to say “Pastor of everything Awesome”. Matt grew up in this community attending Mary Blair Elementary, Conrad Ball Middle School, and Loveland High School and graduated from Heritage Christian School. He studied Bible and majored in Marketing and Management at Evangel University. Not long after graduating from college, Matt began working as a youth pastor at the Vineyard Church of Overland Park in Kansas. In 2010 Matt and his family moved back to Colorado feeling prompted by the Holy Spirit. They joined the Loveland Vineyard Community in June of 2012 working with our Youth, College and Young adult ministries. Matt literally grew up in the Vineyard. His family was apart of the Vineyard Church of the Rockies since 1984. At the age of 16, at the Vineyard of the Rockies he received his first calling by the Holy Spirit to be apart of the Vineyard movement as well as working with young people. This vision and direction has not wavered. God has led Matt and his family on many adventures, being a full time youth pastor in 2006, Regional Youth Task Force Leader in 2009, and now joining the Loveland Vineyard Community. Matt is determined to see the glory of the Lord revealed in this generation, with students and young people taking part in “doing the stuff” Jesus did.
Fun facts about Matt: He loves chocolate, Cinnamon dolce Lattes, snowboarding, backpacking, hunting, and Motorcycles! Matt can’t stand dust bunnies, hairballs, creamed corn, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cara Worley is excited to be a part of the Loveland Vineyard Community as an Associate Pastor. She enjoys many outlets for ministry including Children’s Ministry, Unite Youth group, the worship team, Women’s Ministry, and small groups. Cara grew up the daughter of a pastor in Ohio, where she got lots of hands-on ministry experience. She attended Evangel University in Springfield, MO, where she met and married Matt (1998), and graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and Theatre (2001). She has taught grades 1-3 as a Certified Elementary teacher in Kansas City and is currently coordinating the Children’s Ministry for students in pre-school, kindergarten and first through fourth grade. Cara currently is “employed” by her two kids. She gets paid in cuddles.
Cara’s favorite activities include journal writing, blogging, singing, reading, watching movies, and getting her kicks from organizing (Yes, really!). Her daily addiction is Peppermint Mocha creamer in her coffee. She also habitually plays Candy Crush and may need a twelve step program to help with her Pinterest issues.
