LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE.
Our mission and a key part of the culture at Loveland Vineyard Community is based off of Matthew 22:36-40, and can be summarized as we love God and love people. Based on this value for love we have developed three practical elements.
At LVC you can expect to find a place to belong, an environment to grow, and a purpose to share.
ELEMENT 1 – Place to Belong
We believe that the Father wants to have a loving relationship with you and that He welcomes you to “come as you are” (Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:4-7). We aim to have authentic relationships and build healthy community together.
In practice this means we have a wide variety of small groups ranging from community hang out groups to prayer groups to hobby-based activities and everything in between. We also have a sensory library available during services for any neurodivergent or differently abled friends and family that need accommodations. Our value for community is not limited to Sunday morning; we encourage coffee get togethers, shared meals, and campfire nights. We end every service with our benediction: you are safe to be your true self, free to feel, and valued for who you are, not what you do.
ELEMENT 2 – Environment to Grow
We believe that Jesus invites us to follow Him, learning from His example and every day becoming more like Him (2 Corinthians 5:14-15, Romans 12:2, John 14:15). We strive to provide an environment that fosters curiosity and compassion so that growth can be explored without shame.
In practice this means our teachings are focused on the freedom and healing that God can provide, finding our motivation from where we are going instead of what we are moving away from. We understand that failure is a natural part of growing and learning, so we strive for a culture of grace where you are safe to try and fail. We offer a variety of classes where we can learn skills ranging from leadership development to communication skills. We also invite community leaders to come share their passion and knowledge, learning from those who have already put their faith and values in action.
ELEMENT 3 – Purpose to Share
We believe that all believers are empowered through the Holy Spirit, endowed with His authority to partner with Kingdom of God here on earth (Romans 8:14-17, John 14:26, Acts 2:38-39). We see serving others as a tangible way to love others and put our faith in action. We recognize self-care and rest as an essential part of service, striving to build a culture where we work from a place of overflow and not overwork. Our three initiatives that guide our time and focus are Serve the Needy, Unite Communities, and Correct Oppression.
In practice this means we have a food pantry and clothing closet for anyone within our church or city that is in need. We have worship that covers a variety of languages and cultural backgrounds. We also strive for diversity in our leadership team and board members. Lastly, we focus our teachings on courage, compassion, and curiosity instead of fear, “shoulds” or manipulation.
