Service Cancellation Due To COVID-19

With schools and churches across the state closing in response to the Coronavirus pandemic we felt it wise to cancel our formal service this Sunday. We will be there at 10am with a pot of coffee for anyone who wishes to show up for a time of prayer. Check with your small group leader to see if they are meeting this week as well.

I encourage you not to give in to fear while still taking reasonable precautions as directed by health professionals. As you find yourself at home more in the next few weeks, look for the opportunities to grow closer to God. It’s easier to binge Netflix but I believe that Jesus is faithful to work good out of every circumstance. So during this time let’s do what we always do: Love God and Love People.

Love God

Make some quiet time

This Sunday, take 30 minutes to practice silence and listen for what God wants to say to you. If you are skipping the morning commute to work from home, try spending that time reading the Bible and praying.

Catch up on a sermon you missed

Check out our recent messages especially our recent series on Core Values. This is a good time to catch up on any messages you missed or even re-listen to one that strongly impacted you

Worship

Whether by yourself or with your family, you can worship in your own home. Vineyard Music recently released a new album with some powerful new songs and we’re starting to introduce several of them.

Love People

Call someone

With many people stuck at home for days on end the cabin sickness will start to set in. But thanks to technology we don’t have to let that shut down our community. Sometimes all we need is the sound of a friendly voice. Pray about who the Spirit is leading you to call and ask him to show you who might be left out and in need of human connection.

Give online

The church office will remain open and we’re continuing to provide food and clothes for anyone who comes by. Your support is crucial to keeping the lights on and the ministry going. Check out our new online giving option through givelify!

Pray for our community and our leaders

With so many unknowns it is difficult to make wise decisions. Pray for government officials and corporate and non-profit leaders to have divine insight. Pray for the health of the community and breakthroughs for the scientists working to stop this disease.

And wash your hands!
